As someone who was considering purchasing an iPad 1 at a reduced price, I went down to the nearby store and held the iPad in my hand. It was incredibly heavy, and made me immediately decide that I would either get iPad 2 or none at all. So, I ask, just how much of a difference in weight does it feel? Huge, or not so much?

Thank you!!!!! Enjoy your new toys!

If you can spend the money get the iPad 2. The weight is noticeably lighter, and the design is great for holding. The tapered edges fit right into my hand.

it is MUCH nicer to hold due to the "thinness". It makes it seem lighter by more than it really is.

I agree the original felt incredibly heavy.

It isnt the weight that was the problem though.. It was the iPads curved back that was the issue.

Now that its thinner and the back is flat, I think it will be much easier to grasp onto, just like the iphone 4 is and would be if it was that size.

From day 1 ever since I seen the iPad 2, I knew the new design would be much much easier to hold.

Baloney, those that say its noticeably lighter are FOS! It is a tad lighter, and not certainly NOT noticeable.

Maybe a few ounces at best!

What is noticeable is the thinness, and the overall shape making handling it a totally different experience altogether. Vast improvement in the overall design, but really the same weight.

I seriously think people get mixed up with weight and dimensions these days!

Much lighter. The combo of the tapered design and the lighter weight makes it great for holding.

I, for one, will leave mine naked with a smart cover.

Too nice to cover this baby up.

0.3lb is kind of non-trivial — more than a quarter pound.

Wrong. I have one in my hands. It is noticeably lighter.
