New iPad and smart cover

The smart pad works on the front but not so much on the back. It seems less magnetized Anyone else notice that? This is my first iPad and smart cover so I am not sure if this is normal.

Fun to type on though!

Smart cover is not meant to stick to the back at all. There are smart cover compatible cases for the back of the iPad that has a metal strip built in to hold the smart cover to the back. Or you can do what I did and tape a paper clip to the back of the iPad.

I like the pen idea, but i'll never dock this guy, it will 99% of the time be on my lap.
