I bought a new iPad and still have my iPad 1. Inserting the cable into the 30 pin slot on the iPad 1 is really simple and doesn't require much force. However, it seems that I'm missing something in the proper way to insert the same cable into new iPad. Is there some sort of technique to use, like inserting at an angle? I tried (gently, of course) lots of different angles and even when I get it inserted its a bit of a struggle. I've used both the supplied Apple cable and my Belkin aftermarket cable with the same issue.

Mahalo for any help.

I had an old Apple cable too that wouldnt go in so I tossed it and used another one. That cable did work on my other apple products just not the new ipad

That's normal. I unbox a few iPads a month and many of them tend to have this issue. It goes away after it breaks in, doesn't take too long really.
