I bought and returned 3 iPads during the first week after launch and took them back because of screen quality issues. They had the pink/green tint and some areas of the screen were darker than others.

I got a full refund and decided to wait a bit before trying again.

Well, on my way home from work tonight, I passed a Best Buy. Something made me stop and see what they had in stock. They had a black 64GB 4G in stock and I decided to try one more.

I'm happy to say that this one is a keeper! The screen really good! It's a nice even white screen with no trace of color shift or uniformity issues. I'm very impressed.

For those that are having issues with the screen, please be assured that there are indeed really good screens out there. Take it back and get another until you get a good one. They do exist! :)

Let's all join together and pray that mine has a perfect screen on the first try, getting it tommorow.

I also just picked up a white 64gb wifi iPad from best buy and it is perfect! So happy with it and the display is amazing!

The build week?

I returned a week 6 iPad with yellow tinted screen. Think I'll go back and try another one.
Try it I didn't even open it at the store, in another thread here said week 9 looked like a great week...maybe thing got better, good luck oh and it has less heat and much brighter.

I ordered mine from the Apple online store, it was 16GB Wifi, and the screen is lovely.

I initially thought that if I wasn't impressed with it, that I would trade it to my mum for her iPad2, but I have to say, I think this one is a keeper for me :)

I had to return 2 iPads week 9 due to the terrible red hue, so there is no pattern here. It's hit or miss.

Week 1 just refers to the week of the year it was built, not necessarily the fact that it was the first week the new iPads were in production. I believe there are some serial numbers from December 2011 (so week 50-52 of 2011).

After reading all the horror stories about the blotchy colors and bad tint, I am so thankful I got a "perfect" one out of the box. Glad you got one you are happy with - nothing worse than spending money on something and then not being happy with it.

Ahhh ok

I am hoping the same!

i am waiting on my 3rd replacement! the first one had 6 dead pixels but the second one was even worse which had a 1 inch black hair under the screen, the home button was not flush with the screen and stuck out about 2mm and it also had a white dot that showed through the black bezel.

I think taking pictures and emailing them to them helped speed up the exchange process.

Same here, I might even have some screw ups with mine but if I don't notice it during normal use at normal brightness then it doesn't benefit me to notice them.
