I know applications will be upgrade to use every pixel of the new ipad but lets say I want to watch a 1080p movie.. so if it doesn't have an good scaler the movie will actually look better in a 1080p monitor because in cases like this the new ipad will not take advantage of the retina display since the movie can only display 1080p!

No way to know until the device is in people's hands. Of course, there could always be an option to view a 1080p movie in native 1:1 pixel mode, which will look incredible but not fill the whole screen.

yeah may look "incredible" but i hate when i see black bars.. i want to see the WHOLE screen. I wish it have a good scaler kind of the ones that the dell 1600p monitors have.
