Hey there.
A friend of mine got himself a brand new iPad Mini and somehow it came with 6.1. I told him to touch nothing until we did the jailbreak, but then I remembered that you had to do a clean iTunes restore in order to have a proper jailbreak, what now would update to 6.3 so no jailbreak...

Can we just jailbreak it out of the box or will it fail?

Thanks!

Was in the same exact situation (except I didn't know that you had to do a clean iTunes restore) and just jailbroke it right out of the box... only downside is I never "backed it up" since well... it was fresh out of the box.. and not sure how to go about backing it up now =/. Happy jailbreaking!

Jailbreaking is not effected by a fresh 6.1.

A clean restore only matters if you need to restore, an OTA or factory fresh idevice will not get good blobs/SHSHs because of the different ramdisk.

But blobs cannot be used anyway to restore on A5 devices anyway.

Jailbreak with evasi0n and have fun with it!
