Apple's newly announced iPad Pro models cost over $3,000 when fully configured with all available options and accessories, making it the priciest iPad to date.

The cost breakdown for the top-specification iPad Pro is as follows:

  • 13-inch iPad Pro (starting price): $1,299
  • 2TB storage: +$1,000
  • Nano-texture glass option: +$100

The maxed-out iPad Pro costs $2,599, but with the Apple Pencil Pro and the Magic Keyboard for iPad Pro, it comes to a total of $3,077 – a new high for the iPad.

$3,000 is steep but its worth it if you are in EU. Apple should add Game Porting Kit so we an play proper games from our PC collection.

I’d say buy a Mac, but I don’t who would buy a maxed out iPad Pro with all the features up front. This presentation gave me some exposures to an iPad Pro use case that I couldn’t think of before today.

Buy what you think you need? My use case of $3,000 on a Mac (which I wouldn’t spend either) would be different than who is going to use this iPad Pro.

I bought one. This can 100% replace my Air and can be my main device. I needed the front camera to be landscape and it finally is. Went with the Nano glass option so curious to see how I like i. I always use a matte protector on my older Pro Pro now so hopefully it’s good.

Buy a mac.
Actually for most people, the iPad Air is the logical choice. It supports pretty much every accessory now and comes in 13", same as the iPad Pro.

The only thing the new Pros have over the Air are the OLED displays and M4 processors really. Most consumers should just get the iPad Air. The Pro is for people who really want to spend money on an iPad for the absolute best tablet tech from Apple.

It's weird that the M4 iPad Pro only has one rear camera and LiDAR when the previous models have a wide and ultrawide cameras...

What is the black dot above the Adaptive True Tone flash?

Also, the M2 has Smart HDR 4 but the M4 still has Smart HDR 4... Just like the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro...

OLED displays are really nice to have. Its a huge selling point for me personally, that and Face ID.

I agree for most people the Air is a better choice. Heck, the base model for $349 actually is best for most people.

Why in EU would it be more “worth it”?
Imo iPad Pros are way too expansive and they are too limited by iPadOS. Better buy a cheaper iPad or a great laptop for most folks
iPadOS in EU is about to get its own branch. It's going to be a very different experience now with emulators and unrestricted side loading. Very closer to the Mac Experience.

Yes I agree. If you are budget constrained though, the iPad Air makes more sense now, it covers a lot of the basics.

My point was that the "it's too expensive" crowd shouldn't complain so much now that the iPad Air does so much as is.

1199€ in Europe, up from 1049€, which was already up from 869€ iirc one year previous. At this pace they will make it more expenisve than a Macbook Pro. (With accesories already gets close)

I just got an M2 MB Air for 1069 and seen it for 999. To pay 1199€ for the iPad Pro (+accesories), no matter how good it is, seems like a huge stretch.
