So an Engadget review tomorrow then. I'm sure they've played with one for the past two days anyways.

Tech reviews run in papers (nyt, wsj, usa today) in Thursday's edition. They will show up online sometime Wednesday night. As will the tech sites that got review units.

That's way it has worked in the past anyway.

Im not trying to downplay the improvements, but since the new iPad is just a better version of the old one then I'm not expecting much out of the reviews beyond the 1st impression reactions:

- The screen needs to be seen to be believed
- Websites seem snappier with the extra memory
- The camera is good but the iPad is awkward
- LTE speeds are like having WiFi on the road, but with data caps
- Something derogatory about the competitors being 2 years behind

Im not saying I won't read the reviews. Its just that there isn't much new to say about it since everything is "better" but nothing is necessarily new.

I want to know more about the bezel gestures...there seems to be a dearth of info on it. Unless I'm overlooking it.

Yes, but reading the review is like watching porn. You know what to expect, but it's still exciting. :D

It's interesting. I'm guessing they will release the reviews at midnight if they can, probably Thursday or even Friday 12:00AM.

I seem to recall them doing something like this last time; although I may have been dreaming (it's kinda late)

I think for the iPad 2, Uncle Walt had a review up on the Thursday before the Friday launch (3/11/11).

You have to turn on the haptic interface first, as that's how you can feel the virtual buttons on the bezel.

j/k

There are no bezel gestures. That might be why you aren't finding any info on it.

I'm not imagining things. Engadget reported it on their webcast, there are references to it HERE and HERE to name a few. Apparently it was discussed in the iPad announcement in regards to iPhoto.

What say you? :p

Joanna Stern (formerly of The Verge) who works for ABC News tech now, tweeted something about 24 hours to go for an embargo lift. She was very generic but I think we can all figure out what she was talking about.

They were talking about pulling something onto the screen from the edge. The iPad has no sensors on the bezel.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; CPU iPhone OS 5_0_1 like Mac OS X) AppleWebKit/534.46 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.1 Mobile/9A405 Safari/7534.48.3)

I don't remember when reviews of the iPad came out but I remember iPhone 4S reviews didn't come out until the Friday.

Strange that they call it "bezel gestures" and not just "gestures" though.

Not really. All I said was I want to know more about it.

They are swipping away from the bezel, thats the only reason I can think of to call it a bezel gesture. The function they're describing when they talk about it is available in iPhoto right now for iPhone and current iPads, so it certainly has nothing to do with a new bezel sensor etc.
