I got my new iPad on launch day and it has now developed a screen flicker! I don't know what went wrong, but was wondering if anyone else has had this problem? Is there a fix or should I just it to take it to the apple store?

Here is a video I took of the problem: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IArksAlZQu4

I tried restoring to factory settings already and it is still doing it even on the setup screen, so I'm 99.9% sure it's a hardware issue.

I want to get AppleCare+ now if this is a sign of things to come. I wonder if they will still let me even though I am outside of my 30 days. ;(

The iPad has a 1year warranty, any hardware problem is covered. It sure looks like you have a hardware problem. Take it back to Apple and they will probably replace it . Then if you want Apple care +, buy it for the new one.

I took it to the Apple Store and he said that was the first time he has seen that problem. He replaced it and the new one has been working really good so far.

I did try to buy AppleCare+ and he said I was 9 days out of the 30 day period (since I bought it on launch day) to buy it. He said he would have made an exception, but their computer doesn't let them make the purchase after it is out of the 30 days.

He told me to call the 1-800 number and tell them that I was never given the option to buy it when I bought the iPad and that I wanted to buy it now and I had no idea that I only had 30 days. He said it's worth a shot and they might let me buy it. lol He was a pretty cool Apple Genius.
