I just received my 64GB Wifi only model this morning. My wifi connection always goes weak on my. All the way to one bar and stays there. My MBP in the same location never has issues. I have done a couple of things to try to fix it. I reset my router, i made sure i was not on b/g and only g. and i made sure i was on wpa. i also have gone in the ipad and reset network settings. i dont get it!! any help is appreciated. thanks

Its weird. If i don't use the Internet on the iPad the signal seems to go all the way back up. Then the second I use any Internet it goes back down to 1 bar. I have no idea what to do. I have reset my Internet many times. I have gone into the router settings and try to set different channels. Nothing worked. I even read somewhere that putting your screen on full brightness helps. Well it didn't hahahaha. Any clues or suggestions :apple:

Hi Chuck

The iPad has notoriously finicky Wi-Fi. I had several connection problems initially with mine until I changed the letters in my password, and suddenly boom! connection problems gone! I still find that the bars fluctuate up and down a fair bit, although it doesn't actually appear to affect connection speed. Are you finding your connection slowing when the bars fluctuate? Also, the iOS 4.2 update was delayed due to Wi-Fi bug issues, so the fixes in the revamped update due next week may also resolve the issues that yourself and others have had with the iPad.

Thanks man :). I tried a restore on my device and redid my password like you did. Still kinda doing the same thing though. It's weird it's actually goes from full bars to 1 bar. Just kinda of fluctuates so much. I don't think the Internet is slowing down too much though when the signal drops.

No worries - I think the signal bars thing is a bug, certainly on some iPads, so hopefully Apple will sort it out with 4.2.

Well, it's still not fixed in 4.2.1.

3.2.2 on the same iPad and my old iPhone 3G with 4.2.1 have zero problems waking Wifi from sleep.
