Hello. I just recently upgraded from an iPhone 8 to an iPhone 11 Pro less than a week ago. A few times while using the phone, mostly when browsing the web, the phone screen goes back for a few seconds, the "loading wheel" comes up for a few seconds, then I'm put back at my lock screen. I believe this is what's called a re-spring. But why is it happening? It has happened a few times within the past five days and none of those times was I doing anything that should've been heavy or taxing to the CPU. Just browsing the internet mostly. And each time, only one or two apps were open, because I'm diligent about keeping background tasks to a minimum.

The most recent time was last night. Scrolling through pictures on google image search and it re-sprung out of nowhere. The only apps open were Safari and Google Drive. At the exact time of the event, there are two crash logs in the analytics: one titled "backboardd" and another titled "Jetsam" which was timestamped for one second later. However, I do not know what all the jargon inside of these error logs means.

Any idea what the problem might be? I am still within my exchange window from my carrier - would it be worth it to swap my phone? Is this a potential hardware issue?

If your phone is a week old it's either defective or you possibly have a bad install. Wipe it and do a fresh install. Don't restore from a backup. Just a nice clean fresh install and see how it works.
