So I opted to get the 128 GB iPhone 12 Pro Max today in Pacific Blue. Every single other phone I have ever owned has been black/gray/graphite or whatever color name is equivalent to black.

I must say, Apple NAILED this color in my opinion. This is the first time I have ever considered venturing into a different color solely based on the fact it is actually a super sleek look.

Having said that, I did not know Apple had made the 128GB model the smallest available. Almost wish I had gone for the 256GB that they had. Lol

I'm the same, always had whatever they call the black for that particular year and I wanted to change it up this year too. My wife's 12 PM is Pacific Blue and really nice, so that was my first choice, but they didn't have it when I went for mine, so I got Graphite. Not disappointed, it's always been my go to, but man is her phone nice!

I initially wanted the blue. I then saw the silver, well, white and preferred that. It’s stunning when you see it. That said, my mate just got the blue and I made the mistake of having a closer look. I want the blue again 🙄

I got my pacific blue 12 PM 3 days ago, what a color, I always had black or silver iPhones and this one is big refresh. I always lay my phones on the back, but this one lays on the screen because of it's beautiful color😁 and yes I go naked!

I have considered going naked with mine but with (3) kiddos (4 year old twins and a 2 year old), I have found it wise for me to use a sleek Otterbox Symmetry. Lol

I just assumed 128 GB was the middle. No big deal as I had got by just fine with a 64GB iPhone prior to this one.

Nice. I’d be too faird to go naked. I do have Apple care, so I suppose I could. I’ve got the leather case which looks good.

A few years ago, I had an older Honor 8 that came in a similar blue to the 12 Pro Max and absolutely loved the color. I had to go with the blue when I got the 12 Pro Max, and I love the color in person.

I got an OtterBox Figura+Pop case to help manage the size of the phone. I wish I could go naked as well but it’s just too big and (for me) slippery.

It is indeed a great color until Apple decided to remove it for whatever new trendy color for 2021 iPhone Pros. It sucks really, but graphite (or whatever shades of black they wanna call) is the safest option if you want a long-lasting design.

With Blue it's getting old really fast... Next year is like "Oh you're using the blue iPhone, must be the old 12 Pro."

Yeah it’s tough if you buy electronics for fashion.

Yeah it’s tough if you buy electronics for fashion.
I must admit that while I laughed at what you said I also have to admit that my choice for the color was a bit shallow. I basically like to use variety of phone cases with different colors. I love the most the gold color but I also love to use red case and I did not like the combination of red case and gold iPhone. It is personal preference but I just did not enjoy it. So I decided to get the Graphite with the idea to have vast selection of cases of different colors to choose from.

I have to admit that there was another reason to go this way. When I decided that I want to buy the phone and I knew that I wanted 256 GB, the graphite was available and the gold not. I did not know when it will be again and I did not want to wait. So I decided to go Graphite road for those two reasons and both of them are rather shallow :D.

Lol yeah the option is there and Apple seems to enjoy the hype of a “special” color for each generation.

It’s a color designed for hypebeasts out there. But then it dies out the fastest too.

It’s all good. There’s no rule book. Use cases and colours as you see fit. Some will write long paragraphs about how they believe colours choices are old or new or whatever. Just fashion, do what you like.

I’ve had the PM now for three weeks, upgraded from the iPhone X which I had almost 3 years. I have the graphite 128 GB version. I love the color of this phone personally, but any of the others aside from gold would have worked too. Design wise, I am impressed with the feel and the grip. The X was slippery like a bar of soap, whereas the sharp edges of this new one make it much easier to grasp. I loved the 5 when I had it, and this one brings back memories of it. I sometimes just stop to marvel and hold the phone itself, it really is well built and the premium stainless steel finish really adds to it.

I remember also having an iPhone 6 Plus, and that was very unwieldy and larger in the pants pocket. I think looking back now, the real reason i didn’t care for the 6 plus was because I always felt the screen could have been much larger to fit the frame. Well, with the PM you no longer have that issue as you are getting all screen minus the notch. Not to mention the screen quality being substantially better, it is a joy to look at. In short, with it being a better design than the 6 plus, this slides much better in my pocket and doesn’t feel as much of a brick. Sure, this is still a big phone and I’m 6 foot 1, and my wife’s 12 mini practically disappears in the pocket. But I still think this phone isn’t as big as people make it out to be, I just choose to deal with it better now with all it offers.

I love OLED. I wish my iPad Air 4 had it. But that’s ok. I’m just glad we have it on the iPhone. I do see the improvements over the X which was already a great screen. The brightness on this! Holy crap! I watched some of The Mummy and The Mummy Returns and that HDR looks lovely on the XDR screen. The colors are gorgeous and full, the blacks are rich and the whites are bright without sacrificing detail. Using the big screen for browsing, texts, anything is really fun and while it can be cumbersome at times to hold with one hand, I never have had much issue overall using it one handed when needed. I have larger hands so I am lucky.

Performance is excellent, no lag whatsoever. Everything is snappy and quick. That A14 gets the job done and I still have not come even close to taxing it. I do love being spoiled with 6 GB of ram lol. The camera I need to play around with more, but the photos I’ve taken have been really nice. Using RAW is a nice touch and I’m certainly no professional photographer, but this is the first phone that will force me to utilize all the phone has to offer in terms of the capabilities of the camera system. I have a 3 year old, so this camera will come in handy moving forward, not to mention being able to shoot HDR Dolby Vision video for all the moments we want to capture. From what I’ve gotten so far, I’m pleased. Night mode is new for me, and THANK GOD I can now take photos at night and actually have them come out with minimal light. I see what the fuss is all about.

In short, for 3 weeks I’ve been more than happy with the PM. I fully intend to keep this one at least 5 years or more unless it gets damaged, and with my wife getting and being happy with her mini 12, we are fully set with our phones.

Same. Every phone since my iPhone 4 was Graphite, Space Gary, Black. I DID pre-order and get the Graphite for 12 Pro Max on launch day, but a week later I exchanged it for Pacific Blue.

Not usual for me to get some new color, but I really did love how the blue looked...and it just a nice change for once!

With the 2021 pro iphones having a 1 TB model maybe base storage will be 256?
