I was running iOS 16.1 Beta on my (old) iPhone 13 Pro Max. When I brought home my new iPhone 14 Pro Max yesterday, I set it up doing the easy side by side transfer (app and data) without thinking (duh!) that I'd then transfer the 16.1 Beta to my new phone. The first thing I did was delete my Beta Profile in Settings/General/VPN & Device Management. Then I re-started my phone. I then went to Settings/General/Software Update and got this message.
Unable to Check for Update
An error occurred while checking for a software update.
I know that I can reset the phone back to the factory settings with iOS 16.0, but then I have to re-install everything including my custom settings. If I leave everything alone at this point, will the error disappear (and allow me to do an update) once the regular version number is higher than 16.1?
Thanks for your help!
