Hey Guys - Just got back from the Apple Store with a new iPhone 4 16GB replacement... Here's the serial for further inspection: (Factory 66?? 4S?)

66036####4S

yay for you.

Unless I missed a story were Apple halted production, they are continually being manufactured every week of the year (including refurbs).

I was at an Apple store last night and they offered too exchange mine and the one they brought out was a week 26, new sealed in box. I said no thanks, I'll wait. Can't understand how they have week 26's still new in box.

because everyone keeps saying "No Thanks, I'll wait", they can't get rid of it.

Sorry guys, haha. Was just wondering what the factory 66 was, cause I've never seen that before. Also the 4S at the end... Every SN i've seen has ended in 4T?

I got mine yesterday from ATT and its week 43! :)

well anyway here is what i found about the iPhone serial number...

aabccdddeef
aa = Factory and Machine ID
b = Year
cc = Production Week
ddd = Unique Identifier
ee = Color (A4=black)
f = size (S=16GB, T=32GB

Just bought a week 25 at our local store

Just ended up with a week 25 here. While it was a good week for screens (not yellow) I am pretty concerned that it sat around uncharged for too long and the battery is shot. Maxing at just 4:30 total usage, and draining on idle pretty fast. Applecare offering to replace with no hassle. Just wonder if Applecare would send a newer phone than the local Apple stores seem to have.

It has already taken me a few hours at the store getting a non-yellow screen, so don't want to start that over again.

My earpiece wasn't working (week 29) and I went today to get a replacement, week 43 aswell.

Just exchanged my phone bought on release day with a week 40 iPhone 4 after some problems. Assuming this is likely a new phone, not a refurb...?
