New iPhone 5 sync questions

- I just got an iphone 5
-I want to set the phone up as a "new phone" and ONLY want to transfer the contacts right now. the rest I can add myself. I'm limited in space and I don't want all kinds of junk to fill up my 16GB which shows 1 gb left on iphone 4.
How would I do this?

forget it decided to dock it and just delete stuff to make space, should have gone with the 32GB!
