New iPhone but Apple Watch won’t pair

I switched from iPhone 13 Pro with iOS 17.0.1 and Apple Watch ultra 1 with watchOS 10.0.1

To iPhone 15 pro with iOS 17.0.2

But using the watch app and selecting „Pair existing“

Brings up the error message: „Unable to connect to Apple Watch. Make sure your Apple Watch is nearby and on your wrist to finish pairing.“

Restarted both devices - didn’t help

Anyone else?
