Just curious what the best course is. It used to be that you should fully charge battery devices before use.

What's the verdict now or does it matter?

Fully charge and then fully drain, fully charge again , but it dosen't matter as much as some people think.

Either way will matter very liitle in the future. When you get you device it will have about 80+ % power from what most have said. Just use it and charge it tonight when you sleep.

Just put it on the charger every night and do not worry about it.

That is all.

I got my replacement from Apple today so thought I would ask. The back of it looks to have a couple small scratches on it. I don't think it's a refurb though.

It would surprise me that they have refurbs so quickly but then again your phone should not have a single scratch if it were new.

Apple said it shouldn't be scratched either. Now I don't if I should just live with it or exchange again.

It doesn't matter because Li-ion batteries have no memory effect and thus they don't need to be totally discharged before charging it.
