New iPhone charging connector coming?

Apple have signed up to the EU commission's plan to have a standard charger across all mobile phones.

I wonder how they're going to integrate this into the iPhone?

I don't think they could do it on the current hardware, except for maybe selling some kind of adapter. Hopefully they do this with US versions of the hardware because I'm sick of getting popped for the Apple chargers everytime I lose one.

Hmm. Alright. Seems like a silly thing to "harmonize" over. You'd think maybe the Isreales and Palestinians could "harmonize." Eh. At least we've got that important charger problem under control.

I dont throw away old chargers. I keep them to give to people who may need them. If an old one dies, sure, I'll throw it away, but that has nothing to do with different chargers.

So are all batteries going to be the same?

They actually already have an adapter out that will do that, I own one. Not to mention it allows audio and video output also.
