within 5 mins of getting my phone, i go to the appstore while i'm sitting in my car and it asks
"enter password for kathia.perez@yahoo.com"

uhhhhhh

where is a setting somewhere that lets me enter MY itunes id/password?
why is there an ID already there?
seems to my on my 3G i got in the 1st week that it allowed me to setup id/pw when i connected (but its been a while and i can't remember)

i paid $400 for this (without an activation) and it makes me wonder if it was a returned phone.

thx

It's because they activated the phone using iTunes. Sync it with your own iTunes, follow the prompts, and it'll replace that info with your own.

Don't worry, it's normal and it happened even on launch day. :)

there's a couple threads on this... search next time.

the email probably comes from whenever you synced it at the store; someone (kathia.perez@yahoo.com) must've logged into the itunes at that computer for some reason, and that information got carried over when you happened to activate your phone/possible sync. this is the most reasonable explanation for this.

edit: actually, you said your phone wasn't activated? could you explain this more? where did you purchase it from?
