I was upgrading my old iPhone 6S plus and to my suprise, the battery health is still 97% after 4 years.

The battery health of my iPhone X however ....

Seems that back in the days much better quality batteries were used.

The battery health app/setting is not accurate. When it gets to 80% then you can start wondering.
I brought in an iPhone 7 to the Apple Store for a screen repair and the iOS battery health app said it is at 85%. The tech on the other hand said the battery was fine & didn't need replacement- so it wasn't replaced

My 6s Plus had its battery changed after two years and it’s down to 87% on its second battery.

My iPhone X is nearly two years old with over 700 cycles in it and it has retained 95% battery health.

Your account is as anecdotal as mine.
