New iPhone in Canada

Hi,

I bought an iPhone from Ebay thinking I could get it unlocked... unfortunately... my iPhone was a newer one, it can't be unlocked YET...

So, I was thinking that I would use it as an iPod for now... is that possible?

I can't get past the AT&T activation... can someone please advise how I can bypass the phone functions and simply use my iPhone as an Ipod?

you can use stealthsim (www.stealthsim.com, i think) to trick it into thinking your rogers/fido sim is an att one so it accepts it. You'll need to jailbreak it first, however. here's a pretty straight forward guide to doing it so you can use it as an ipod and so on if you don't want to get stealthsim or similar
