iPhone 12 Pro new iPhone.... names and many contacts arent showing up

I have never had this problem... But many of my contacts arent showing up. The texts from the numbers are and I see those but I cant find the contact or the names. Some of the names are there though? Anyone know how to fix? I tried turning messages on and off and signing out of iCloud and back in?

Are your contacts backed up to your sim, Google contacts, and/or Microsoft? You need to double check.

they are backed up to iCloud ? as they always have been.... dont think you back up to sim or google or Microsoft on an iPhone

Log into iCloud.com and see if your contacts are all listed.

You back up to wherever you want to back up. Mine sync to Google. Check your set up because you don’t seem to know how it works.

Same thing happened to me setting up a new phone on iOS 13 with an iPhone 8. Many contacts missing. There's no guarantee that iCloud syncing will always work.

Same with me, hence my statement. My contacts were in Google and that account wasn’t toggled to sync contacts.
