I have a iphone 4 that I upgraded from a 3GS. I gave the 3GS to my wife (her 3G was slow with 4.0 and is now sitting in the desk).

She uses her PC for her itunes and I use my laptop for my itunes. Both phones had a full back up and then I restored my phone with my itunes and I wiped the old 3GS and plugged it into her PC and restored from her itunes.

All our apps showed up, contacts, calendars, settings everything.

However, I noticed that some apps act like they are brand new and did not carryover any history or data.

For example: my son and I play the World War App (him on itouch and me on iphone). He took my ip4 and openned the world war app game and it is like I am a brand new player (currently at level 37). He enters my user name and it does not recover anything, just a new player.

So we go to my wifes phone and open the world war app and there is my user and my level 37 data.

Shazam (had the app since my 3G ) now only allows 5 tags a month unless you were a user prior to Nov 2009. My ip 4 gets limited as Shazam thinks new.

All the apps came over in the restore.

Does itunes only restore the data of the iphone core apps and only restores the app and not the data? I do not think so as my Password1 app still has all my passwords and settings.

Can anyone tip me off on how to restore my data from some of the apps?
