New iPhone - Setup without losing contacts?

Hi all

A friend of mine has gone from a Samsung to a new iPhone 5, in store they have moved over all her contacts to the iPhone. Now she would like to sync music from her pc onto the phone, when she plugs in the iphone the only option we get is to setup as new phone, which i suppose would wipe the contacts which is no good?

iCloud isnt setup either, so im not too sure how to get the phone syncing without losing contacts?

easy answer is to set iCloud up on phone then reconnect to iTunes and setup as new and iCloud contacts will remain in place.

Yup...iCloud is the key to never losing your contacts or notes again.

I utilize the iCloud sync with notes and contacts though so they are sync'd with my computers.

Ok will do this, only thing is when I enabled iCloud on my dads it wiped all his contacts! No idea what I did wrong there
