iPhone XS new iphone, universal clip board only works one way

Removed icloud and restored my iphone x, traded it in, got an XS, both my macbook and new iphone xs are signed into the same icloud, but universal clip board only works when i copy something the phone and paste it on my macbook but NOT the other way around. its so weird! when i copy something on macbook it wont paste on phone, but will paste on macbook from iphone. any fixes for this?

I have just tried the Universal Clipboard on my iPhone XS (iOS 12.2) and MacBook Pro (macOS 10.14.4). Copy and paste work both ways. Therefore it is likely not a bug in the iOS or macOS but rather a specific issue to your devices. Since it works when you copy on iPhone and paste on a Mac, I assume that Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Handoff are all turned on on both devices. An easy thing to try is restarting both devices. I would also try to turn off and turn back on Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Handoff one by one to see if that helps.
