Can you place more than 4 apps or folders of apps in the dock?

Is there a setting to enable 3D Touch? When i press on camera or mail nothing happens. Is there a trick to it?

I have an iPad with messages set to my email address because I didn't have an iPhone before. I just sent some messages on my iPhone and they don't show on the iPad. How do I synch them?
