The new battery uses lithium ion so i was wondering..maybe now it isn't good to charge it all the time? Does lithium ion suffer from the memory effect? It's good that they went away from lithium polymer though...all devices that use that medium seem to die if you don't use it for a while..take the ipaq for example...a nightmare for people trying to sell and buy second hand ones just because if you leave it unused for a while the battery will go flat!

lithium ion and lithium polymer are both lithium ion. lithium polymer should really be called lithium ion polymer but that's getting a bit hard to say, isn't it?

the difference? because of the polymer design, it gets internal stack pressure without the need for aluminium or steel container. so you can reshape the battery to make it long and thin.

but the new battery must be noticbly lighter and thus the reduction in weight and possibly capacity (i want to hear people's reports!!!)
