iPod touch New iPod doesn't have 2.0.2?

I just got a new iPod Touch with my education discount, but it didn't come with 2.0.2. So even knew iPod Touch owners have to pay $10 for the new software?

I would have thought it would be included, but the site says that you have to pay for the upgrade, since it make it more than an iPod. Hopefully, the next version comes with 2.1 preinstalled.
