If you go to http://www.apple.com/ipod-touch/specs/ and look on the 2D Rederings with the Sizes, you see, that there is a iPod with rounded Edges and Antenna Stripes (like the iPhone 6). The Volume-Rocker are on the right side (like on the iPad) and at the Bottom there ist no Microfone or Screws like on the iPhone. Also on the second 2D-Rendering you can see a Touch-ID Button (2 rings). Seems to me, that they took the wrong pictures...
 
Yeah, there are so many errors with that image. If you analyze it further, it seems to have a 4.7" screen rather than a 4" screen (the 4" screen image's top and bottom bezels do not have that much width, and you can see this when looking at how small the FaceTime camera looks in comparison). They probably just used a modified image of the iPhone 6, even though the buttons are in the wrong place.
