New iPod nano's refurbished?

Just curious if anyone has tracked the amount of time it takes for new products to end up on the refurbished deals page on apple.com? i know the iPhone jumped there pretty quick.

I want to get a nano for my wife (and know she would love the new video one) -- but that refurbished previous generation for $99 is hard to pass up.

I guess it depends on the number of returns that Apple get that they can refurbish. So it is pretty product dependent.
