iPod New ipod old Mac with older iTunes

Ok, If I bought a New iPod Nano can I use my older Mac 10.2.8 that only has iTunes 6 on it? Or do I have to have a newer Mac OS with Tunes 7 or higher?

I can't seem to find a place to upgrade iTunes with my current OS. I don't want to currently upgrade the OS on this Mac at this time. I just want to be able to put music into an new iPod Nano with this Mac, if possible...?

Well the tech specs say this:

Mac system requirements
Macintosh computer with USB 2.0 port
Mac OS X v10.3.9 or later
iTunes 7 or later

So I'd think no.

Edit: On second thoughts something like this might work (supports 10.2)
