iPod touch new iPod touch 2g user. quastion about the music playback

Hello im new user to iPod touch 2g, i had my old iPod 5G, just whan to ask is there a way to like fast forward a track? example on my old iPod 5G just turning the well around will forward the track, put how to tho this on Touch?

tap the area around the top of the screen and a bar should come down, similar to the volume bar, and you just slide it to where you want.
