what is the part number? is it MA446Z/P ?

i wanna buy a new ipod video but im afraid its not the 5th gen. and i can't open the sealed box to see whether the jack sparrow is in the box or not.

ah, i forgot to mention. im planning on buying the 30g model. could u help me, coz i really can't find it on the internet.

In the US, the 30 GB white model is MA444LL/A, while the black one is MA446LL/A.

i think the part numbers apple use will be the same anywhere world wide. so the apple retailer here havent got the new ipod video yet then. but they already have the new ipod nano on stocks. weird.

Forget the part numbers, the new iPods have Cap'n Jack Sparrow on one side and the Chilli Peppers playing "Dani California" on the other.

If it's not got Cap'n Jack, put it back.

The images are on the outside of the box - there's no need to open it.

They do differ. The portion before the letters (MA446) will be the same.

The old 5G numbers were:

MA002LL/A 30 white
MA003LL/A 60 white

MA146LL/A 30 black
MA147LL/A 60 black

New numbers are:

MA444LL/A 30 white
MA450LL/A 80 white

MA446LL/A 30 black
MA448LL/A 80 black

hell great! i thought the jack sparrow is inside the box.

well, the retailer has MA446 Z/P on stock, so it must be the new one.

great. thanks alot guys, this forum helps alot.
