So Im used to Samsung devices and recently had a Samsung Galaxy S22, Watch 3 and Buds Plus. Now have an iPhone 15 Plus, Series 7 and AirPods Pro 2. The Series 7 I got from my dad that was hardly used is showing 88% health and was unsure if I should replace the battery or eventually go to at least the 9 or 10. Im more of a "if it still works" type so if a battery change seems better, Id rather do that but I don't know the app/support of apple devices vs Samsung

Apple won’t replace the battery unless health is below 80%, and if it were, you’d get a refurb for $99.
I expect OS updates for probably another 3 years, at least 2 and “obsolete” will probably happen in 5 or so.
Use it for now and see how you like it, what model/color is it? S7 came in Alu, SS and Ti

I have a Series 5. I replaced the battery when it went below 80% a year ago, and as the above poster indicated, I received a refurbished model in return. It works well, and it does what I need it to do (tracking exercise, instant weather prediction, and the time is what I customized) . The current battery health is at 90% on the refurb. Just this past year it did not get the Watch OS latest version, but frankly those prior updates didn't do much for my daily use. I believe the internal processor for the Series 7 is essentially the same as the 8 and 9. The only thing about the Series 10 that interests me is that it is thinner, since I wear the watch to bed to track my sleep. The 9 and 10 have sleep apnea detection if that is important to you.

It isn't. The series 9 SiP has a four core neural engine that lets it handle machine learning tasks on-device. This is enables functionality like the new sleep apnea detection feature (that you mentioned), the double-pinch gesture and on-device processing of Siri requests, all available on the series 9 but not the 7.

It's got this green-ish tint to it so Im relatively fond of it as it resembles my car in dark areas.

88% is fine and to be expected for the age of the watch. What's the problem?
It just feels lacking in the time on a charge. Maybe Im overthinking it since I usually buy these things new so maybe my range of what's expected on Apple is off especially since my iPhone, 19 MacBook Air and AirPods last so long in comparison.

I have a Series 7 & I love it (last time they made a titanium model with the matte natural look). Works great. I:'ve had a 2,3, 4 (I think), 5,6,7 and while they are all nice, the 7 is the one for me. I'd upgrade again if they came out with another matte titanium model (the Ultra might be, but I don't care for that style). I think the 7 will last me for a long time. It has the larger screen (smaller than 10, but slightly larger than 6, etc) and the ability to type out texts using the onscreen keyboard.

My battery is at 80% & I'll defiantly get it replaced once it dips below that. I'll upgrade eventually, but sooner if they come out with one that I like a lot. But if not, the 7 is really great.

As far as battery, if you've only had it a few days, I'd say reserve judgement until you've had it a bit longer. I found that I played around with mine a lot at first & that used up more battery life than how I use it in day to day life. Also, if you just updated the system software, that always messes with battery life (for me) for a day or two.
