The iPhone has a 2 megapixel camera in its .46" body.

The Macs have a 0.3 megapixel camera in their (for instance, a MBP) ~.25" bezel.

Can a 2 megapixel camera fit into the bezel? Im guessing yes...Is that too high of a resolution though?

So for the upcoming iSight upgrade: can we bet on it being 2 megapixels?

Not much point at the moment; the camera is primarily for videochat, and molto di bandwidth would be needed for live 2MB video...

What about even increasing it by a little?

And just because you use the camera doesn't mean it's automatically for videochats. Maybe a setting could be for pictures using a higher resolution than if live video?

One megapixel is more likely, I see your point, but maybe the generation after next...

Well, my math might be wrong, but as I understand it, 640x480 is .3 megapixels.

yeah that's true actually, I think I've been taking it for granted that it was the same as the 1.3MP logitechs and similar, as the picture seems to be a lot better with the iSight. The built in ones are definitely worse than the external ones though.
