New itunes acct?

So my email changed and I no longer want to use the old email as my itunes sign in. Can I change my itunes sign in name and it still be contested to all my apps and purchases?

Is this something you would do? Am I messing anything up? What would everyone do if they got a new email acct? Leave itunes I'd alone or do you change it to new email? Does all purchases migrate over.

It shouldn't change your account really, just changes the email you use for it basically. You might need to sign out and sign in using the new email, but it should still be the same account.
