Carrier New IUP for an ATT phone on my account but NOT my phone.

I want to create a new IUP account to upgrade my daughters phone on my ATT account.
The options for the pre-verification for ATT are ‘upgrade my phone’, or add a new phone - I chose the latter.
But Now there’s a new number on my account. My phone is on IUP and I’m waiting for the Max.

I don’t see any other way to do it. Did I miss something?
I didn’t want to do it from my daughters phone because I’m using my Apple Card.

Try "upgrade my phone". If you have multiple phones on your account, you'll probably be asked to select one.

I played that out and it does let you select another phone, but only one in IUP.

In other years, one of the first questions was are you upgrading this phone or another phone, then would ask you for the other phone so you can check upgrade status.
But this year, it only allows you to do that for phones currently in IUP or your own phone.
Maybe it’s just the prequalification thing.
