New Job.. No forum?

Well. I'm gonna come out with it.

A couple of you know something I've been keeping on the down low for the past couple weeks.

I just got hired at Apple.

As such, I am going to take it easy when it comes to regularly visiting and posting on these forums. I would like to still be a part of this community, but not at the cost of my new job. So just in case, I won't be on too often. I'll try to stop by every now and again to make sure you haven't all gone crazy ;):D

I know im not super famous or well-known on here, but I sure have made some worthwhile contacts and people to talk to in general.

If anyone will miss me lol, feel free to email me or IM me. It's all in my profile.

Cool man, congrats! So fess up... how did you get hired by them, share the secret? :D
 
more or less its just doing retail sales, i went in about a month ago because through the Apple jobs website, there was a position available at the store that i frequent. they pretty much told me that they had the people chosen.

I didn't want to settle for that answer ;)


So I continued to go back each week until I got to talk to the right people and they told me they would see what they can do. 2 days later they call me and say they want to do an interview. All went well with that 1st interview so they ran a background check on me and had me do a different interview with the Senior Assisstant Manager. My BG check came back clear. I'm not a terrorist :)

2days after that they called me over the weekend and said they would like to extend a job offer.

So I gladly accepted and went in to negotiate my terms, needless to say, I am happy with what they offered.

I just wanted to give it a go since I will be going back to school in that area ( took 8 months off of school to do my photography work ). I think it'll be a fun job, plus I get a cool title " Mac Specialist" ;)


(sorry if anyone thought i was referring to the head company up in cupertino)

that's why i am saying i wont be on the forums very much, if at all.

Nor did you ever work in the media or for another computer manufacturer, apparently. ;) Congrats man!

I almost had the same kind of thing (or at least I hoped to), check their website, and there were a few cool jobs in the US, but none over here :( Im working on another way in now...

Might I suggest you retire your existing MR username and register with a name that can't be traced back to you if you intend to do any posting here whatsoever?
 
Well, I was just about to post a new thread, but I guess it can wait. I have an interview for the upcoming Apple store in the Providence Place Mall in a little over 7 hours from now. Presuming I get the job (IhopeIhopeIhopeIhopeIhopeIhope), I'll probably cease my posting here. :(

Well, unless Arn wants to pay me $12/hr to post. :D

Well if your real name isn't Counterfit, I doubt anyone would know. Also, you wouldn't be the first regular here to also work for Apple retail...

Just don't be stupid and start telling people how much you know. If you know something we're not supposed to know, or if you saw something interesting that may or may not be related to a new Apple product or update, then keep quiet about it and you really wouldn't be doing anything bad. You just post here for fun most of the time anyway.
 
agreed. I will not be disclosing ANYTHING I learn. Today they told us " the fastest way to get fired is to post on rumors sites " lol. great.

you guys won't be seeing too much of me for a while ;)
 
when i do find out. I won't be telling ;) I will just sit there with glee of my new knowledge and power. and then put one on order.


I'm not at liberty anymore to speculate about upcoming products though. sorry.
