So I purchased 4 gbs of ram from newegg, kingston ram that is. I ran it through memtest86+ and it started to fail in the first few seconds, 183 errors exactly, then the ram was fine the entire rest of the time. Worried, I reinstalled my old ram, ran memtest86 and i got the exact same results, 183 errors then it was fine the rest of the time. THEN i downloaded memtest for mac, booted into single user mode and tested the new kingston modules via that, it passed with flying colors?

Any help on if I should return the ram, or does memtest86 have some qualms with mac os? I was running it off of an ubuntu live cd if thats any matter?

that link btw also states that memtest86 is maybe providing false positives with intel based macs?
