New Laptop Now?

A friend of mine wanted some advice about a new notebook. Apparently her parents a getting her one for Christmas. I gave her advice, but should I tell her to wait until macworld. I don't expect anything as far as notebooks go, but should I just tell her to wait just in case, it will only be a couple of extra weeks.

Uhm...yes? It's always better to wait until just after an upcoming major event. Gives you more peace of mind.

Yep, it's a couple of weeks... tell her to wait if she can.

Even if the laptops get no new updates, iLife '07 may be announced which would likely be included with all new computers after MWSF.

telling someone to wait to buy you a gift is a little inappropriate to me. she already doesn't have to buy the darn thing, so if she wants the new software that might be released, she should fork over the cash for that upgrade. i suppose i'm a little more traditional in this day and age of gift giving, though.
