Currently it doesn't display properly in Safari and several other browsers. The text in the news section is not visible. You could try validating the page at http://validator.w3.org/ which might fix these problems (the first thing to do would be to specify a doctype).
As for the design, maybe with the line of what I'm assuming will be links (home, about, videos etc), there should be something to show that they are separate from each other, at the moment it just looks like a continuous line of words. IMO the rest is quite good, although it's quite image intensive.
