New LG Monitor for G4 doesnt work

About 1 month ago my Monitor would get very pixelated when went to sleep and the original picture would not return when it was awoken. Then one day the monitor didnt have any picture. I went out and bought a new flat screen monitor from LG that is Mac compatible hooked it up but nothing. The screen says no connection. Any suggestions? Could my graphics card be bad?
