I bought a brand new 6ft lighting cable, for some reason it won’t charge my iPad. It says not charging in top right corner. The cable would however charge my iPhone 7 and my moms iPhone 8. I then tried my smaller lighting cables I have two and those worked no proble. I then tried my mom 6ft lighting cable and that one worked fine and before I had to replace it my old lighting 6ft cable had worked, it just had become torn and I needed to replace it, which is what led me to buy the new one. So I did contact apple support this afternoon and they told me to try the other end and for a little while today it worked. Then it stopped working and wouldn’t charge my iPad no matter which end i tried.

it leads me to believe that something is just up with the cable, since three other lighting cables work just fine on my iPad. But I wanted to double check and ask on here. And yes I have already updated my iPad to the newest iOS and did a reset settings.

Maybe it’s the charging brick?

No I tried the cable in other bricks and had the same results, plus I don’t think it would make sense for it to work with all the other cables, but not this one.

I think your best bet is to exchange it for another one.
Yeah probably, I just found it odd that it worked with iPhones, but not my iPad. Made be concerned that something might be up with my iPad, but aside for this lighting cable it’s been fine.

You've probably already done this, but you might want to check the port for lint and blow it out with compressed air.

I did take a look at it, didn’t use compressed air, but if lent or dust was there wouldn’t that cause the other lighting cables not to work as wel?

Yes, logically that's true, but it was worth a try before you head back to the store.
