How do you think average consumers will react to the new lineup? Will most be stuck in a limbo state, where they want the x but its too expensive and the 8 looks too redundant? Or will consumers still buy like they always do?

The regular consumer will keep whatever phone they have until it dies and then will most likely upgrade to a device that's the same as the one they had. I have lady here at work that still has a Note 3 and has no plans to upgrade anytime soon. She said if she does it need to be just like that phone she has now.

I am guessing that demand for the iPhone X will not be as strong as Apple would like, given the pricing tier. However, if carriers offer good deals to suck people into their web of contracts, that could help weak sales.

I think the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus will sell strong. A lot of people due for upgrades. There are also people who have been sitting on the sideline watching the production quality of the7s, which I think will make for strong sales for the 8s.
