Luke Miani is predicting based on reliable sources that a new Mac Mini is on the way with a redesigned chassis (starts at 8:52 inc render):

In a nutshell:
  • Chassis - near identical width and form factor, slightly less tall, bottom cover gone
  • Processor - Apple Silicon M1X
  • Price - starting at $1099 (replacing Intel models)

Must have 16GB RAM and M1X with a beefed Up GPU M1X 10 Cores 8 Performance + 2 Efficiency Cores.

Now I am so Glad I returned my M1 Mini 8GB RAM not cutting it.

Question is

$1099 = M1X Mini or
$2099 = M1X Macbook Pro

?

Since I already have 3 laptops I’m gonna lean towards M1X MacMini

I'll probably consider the M1X Mini and if I don't like the specs I'm likely to get the one that comes after it.

I wouldn't expect this until next year...
A more powerful chip will almost certainly be coming soon for the bigger MacBook Pro and iMac models (plus upper-end smaller MBP). I think this M1X chip will likely also be in the top-end Mac Mini, otherwise Apple would have transitioned all the Mac Mini models to Apple Silicon in one go. Having only a minimal redesign means there is little reason for a delay, so will probably be launched at the same time as the other models using the same chip.
