Hey welcome to the fold... just one word of advice.... its Mac not MAC. Some people around here are very fussy when it comes to Mac/MAC.

But other then that, congratulations on getting your Mac!

yep - most people associate MAC with network interfaces ;) however, context should reveal what one's talking about so whining about MAC/Mac just reveals a whiner, nothing more...

I'm with you! My PowerMac 1.8 dual just arrived last night. HUGE box. Can't remember the last time I spent 6 straight hours on a computer without complaining. I'm looking forward to finally organizing myself, with all the calendars and e-mail and address book bits linked so neatly together. I'll be doing some light Illustrator work, but I'm mostly switching to Mac just because it does everything I want to do without a lot of work. I'm looking forward to being more productive.

Oh, and I switched from Linux. So the UNIX stuff under the OS doesn't bother me so much.

Tonight, I try to convert Linux Firefox mailboxes to Mac's Mail app...

So, on behalf of someone with a full TWO DAY head start on you, welcome to the club! =)

welcome, i hope you enjoy your new mac for many years! you certainly made the right choice for graphics! first thing you need to do is go buy a mouse with more than one button. thats something that still bugs me even now which has been more than two years since i switched! im still trying to find a way to cut the button on my 12" PB in half!

yeah if you are reallyu serious about graphics the two button mouse doesnt matter anyway cause you should just have a wacom tablet. i love my tablet:D

congrats on the switch and welcome to the light side of the force

That's why this board alienates newbies, because some people are so anal.

Nice sounding setup. I usually capitaize the g in G5. Is that tablet an Intuos2 or 3? Do they even make a 3 in 9x12?

Welcome.

its an Intuos2 9x12 Platinum tablet... got it around last year and just recently i found out about the new Intuos3 models too... i wonder what the variations in tablet design makes the newer one better? yeah they do have the 3 in the 9x12 size... check out www.wacom.com for all the specs

What does 6502 mean, and what do i have to do to get out of nebie status? I have been with this site about a year! (sorry if this is the wrong forum for this)
