G'day all!
Just got my new (8 mos old) Mac Pro, and while I'm giddy with excitement in using it, I need someone to walk me through how to RAID (mirror) my internal drives.
Some background information: My primary drive (which currently has everything on it) is a 250GB device, with a 320GB unit in Bay 2, and about to have a 300GB unit installed in Bay 3 (all are 7,200 RPM units). I want the two larger units RAIDed for information backup, using my primary as the boot/program drive, which I'm assuming is how it's done (and called RAID 0? I can always use clarification). I've read several of the Mac OSX for Dummies books, but they don't give a step-by-step on how to RAID drives (and ensure the information goes where and how you want it to).
Can anyone literally walk me through this process, step-by-step? I know OSX in my Pro is a software RAID, which for this lifelong PC user is more intimidating than the hardware RAID a PC uses.
All help gratefully appreciated, as it was when I asked on how to transfer my .html files!!!
Happy (giddy!) to be a new Mac owner,
Chuck (The Chuckster)
