New Mac mini has energy saving mode

In System Settings -> Energy, you find a new top level toggle for Energy Saving Mode. The description says it will reduce energy consumption while running the fan at a lower speed.

Was this reported on? Is this old news? My old M1 Mac mini did not have this. There's even a Control Center toggle.
