Has anybody looked at a possible BOM (Bill of Materials) for the nMP? Schiller said if we knew what was really in there we'd be impressed with the pricing, but I wonder. FirePro doesn't impress me - it's mainly software which is Apple anyhow. The hardware is several year old consumer GPU's, maybe with some tweaks but those chips are costing Apple something like $25-$50.

I'd like to find a reason to buy one but I'm not seeing it.

But those parts have an Apple label on them gotta be good for a couple of hundred extra...
 
It would be pretty expensive, I'd imagine. The Mac Pro is apple's way of making the "big money" from the pro side. That and the 2012 edition is essentially a 2010 but with a better CPU and it was even cheaper to make today then 3 years ago.
