I'm slowing moving away from PC and have a new M1 MBP which is great.
However, I need a new Mac Pro desktop that i use daily for hours for work to replace my PC that I use for Davinci Resolve, Photoshop etc but unsure on best spec for my budget?
First question... will a new Mac Pro work ok with a Samsung Odyssey G9 monitor?
Secondly, I have a decent PC with a Nvidia 3090 card so would a Mac with the 3.2ghz 16 core processor and Radeon Pro Vega Duo (2x32GB) be faster in terms of render times using noise reduction etc than my PC with the very good 3090 card as that is my budget maxed out.
It won't be used for any gaming btw.

I think most monitors will work as the GPU has a HDMI output if thunderbolt isn't an option.

There are probably too many variables to say for sure if X is better than Y without trying it out, but I will say that your spec will absolutely fly in Resolve. If you use prores, it might be worth getting the standard Vega II with an Afterburner instead. The Duo might be good if you work with something else like RED footage though.

It's really difficult to say if any performance gains would be worth the money however. It depends on your expectations and how large of a purchase this is for you!

It sounds like your PC is quite good, so perhaps it comes down to other quality of life improvements to being totally in a Mac environment. It sounds silly but I love Airdrop for my video work. It allows me to easily watch my edits on different devices to see how they look.
